We use a telescopic tree pruner for standard tree pruning. It is very safe as it limits the amount of ladder work necessary. I can prune many trees entirely from the ground or just half way up a standard pair of steps. Much safer than climbing trees but maybe not as fun! For the more rigorous work we employ a Stihl pole saw.
